Outgoing Students

Eligibility Criteria:

• Actively enrolled students. (Note: Scholarship holders can not participate in Erasmus exchanges.)
• BSc students can only apply after the first year of their studies.
• The study program abroad should be relevant to the study program at home institution and complement degree-related studies.
• It is essential for both the sending and the hosting institutes to have an inter-institutional agreement established for study exchanges under Erasmus. Please confirm this information from the faculty Erasmus+ coordinator.

Obligations For Student Considering Exchange Studies Under Erasmus+

Before the Study Period:

It is recommended to consult your faculty coordinator during the application period so that you can be informed of the exact places where you can apply. You can also find the available places and list of partner universities in the updated calls for application.

You need to apply online at the given link. Choose the Study Mobility option there.

After the Faculty receives your application, the application is reviewed and approved by the Faculty Committee. Usually, you will also be called for an obligatory interview before the Faculty sends out the final decision. After the final decision, your application will be nominated to the partner university you chose. It is recommended that students choose at least three places when filling in the application.

After successful nomination you will be asked to prepare a learning agreement which shows the courses you will take at the host university. It is highly recommended to contact the partner university’s coordinator at this stage so that you can see the list of available courses and match them with the ones you will take at home during the exchange program. Even though you will be studying abroad, you still need to activate your semester and register for courses at your home university. After you are ready with the course’s list at the partner institute you need to fill in the “Before the Mobility” portion learning agreement and submit it for approval to the Faculty Coordinator.

Before the mobility, you will also be asked to sign Erasmus+ Student Charter, explaining your rights and obligations with respect to your period of study abroad. Do check up on your emails regularly to see other administrative tasks that you might need to complete.

Please be informed of the visa regulations of the partner institute country, requirements for travel and health insurance, and accommodation reporting all through the process.

During The Study Period:

Students are requested to send the arrival certificates as soon as they reach the host university, which needs to be validated by the coordinator abroad. They are also advised to modify the learning agreements in the “During the Mobility” part if they make any changes (such as subject deletion or substitution) in the previously opted subjects. Moreover, these changes should be notified and approved by all the three parties respectively. It is expected from the outgoing students to fulfill the minimum credit and course requirements as stated in the Erasmus+ Student Charter. If you face any problem in your studies abroad such as language barrier, administrative problem or any other issue which hinders your progress in academics abroad, then you are obliged to report these issues to the Faculty Coordinator of both the home and partner university as soon as possible, so that essential steps can be taken to end the mobility without further ado.

After The Study Period:

The partner institute will provide you and the Faculty with a Transcript of Records(ToR) and a Completion Certificate so that your academic output can be recorded in the system.

If you chose subjects that are similar to courses to those you took at the home university, you can also opt for credit recognition upon arrival, so that the subjects that you studied abroad can be recognised and counted towards your diploma supplement. Please note that students who fail to achieve the minimum credit requirement as mentioned in the Erasmus+ Student Charter will be penalised.

Financial Support

Travel and study abroad period is usually supported by the Erasmus+ grant. You can also apply for additional financial support in case you have special needs or limited resources. More information is available here.
